Martin's Low Farm |
|
WelcomeMartin's Low Farm is a 300 year old grade 2 listed building, built of Stone with Oak timbered ceilings, which we have carefully renovated and extended over a period of time. The building was originally a Donkey station in the days that Lead was mined some distance from here, and taken to Rocester for processing. These days the smallholding is farmed in a very small way. We are fortunate enough to be very near two purpose built Cycling Trails, one at Tissington, the other, The Manifold Valley, these were once upon a time railways that ran local services. Walking is extremely well catered for, and many Footpaths lead out from the house, we are also not far from Dovedale. From there, many long and peaceful walks can be made along the length of the River. Martin’s Low Farm is in an area of outstanding beauty with exceptional views. We are situated within The Peak National Park, which provides some of the best walking and safe cycling areas in England. It has a great number of attractions for the visitor, such as Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Dovedale, Tissington and Alton Towers to mention just a few. All these are within easy reach of Martin’s Low. We are also near the delightful towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, Buxton and Leek. The Gladstone Museum and the Pottery “seconds” shops are also within easy reach. There are a large number of Pubs and Restaurants, all within easy reach of here, offering a large variety of choice and style of cooking.
